Chief of Defence Staff Speaks On Military Coup Against Tinubu Amid hardship
A stern warning has been issued against advocating for a military coup amidst the worsening economic hardship in Nigeria.
The note of warning was sounded by General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff while addressing journalists at the Nigerian Army 6 Division Headquarters in Port Harcourt, General Musa emphasized the importance of patience and the preservation of democracy in the face of challenges.
He urged individuals promoting military intervention to reconsider their stance, labeling them as “evil people” who do not have the country’s best interests at heart.
General Musa emphasized the government’s efforts to address the current economic challenges and urged citizens to remain steadfast in supporting democracy. Advertisements “We do better during democracy, and any of us calling for anything other than democracy are evil people,”
He stated, emphasizing that those promoting alternatives should be cautious as the laws would be enforced against them.
___Acknowledging the hardships faced by Nigerians, he noted, “In life, nothing is 100%. Everybody goes through a trying period, but it is what you do with it that matters. We can see that the government is putting in efforts for it to get better.”
____Recall that recent protests in Ogun, Oyo, Kano, Niger, and other parts of the country reflect the widespread discontent over issues such as food inflation, the high cost of living, and challenging conditions exacerbated by the removal of petrol subsidy and forex crises.
General Musa’s call for patience and support for democracy comes at a critical juncture, urging unity and resilience during these challenging times.
The warning against violence due to the economy hardship has been recently coming repeatedly.
