CAF confirmed 2bn people watching ongoing AFCON globally
Approximately, two-billion people worldwide are tuning in to watch the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire, the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, announced.
He made this in Abidjan on Friday, highlighting this accomplishment as something that Africans should take pride in during a news conference held ahead of the AFCON final.
According to him, “We have had close to two billion people watching AFCON globally. We should be proud as Africans and the next one will be even better. The success of Africa depends upon Africa working together, trading together, and in football, countries competing and playing together.”
Meanwhile, the final match between the Supper Eagles and the host Ivory Coast is slated for Sunday 11 February, 2024.
