,,,,,Refined petroleum products are now being produced at the 650,000 barrel per day Dangote Petroleum Refinery.

,,,,,,The commercial center of Nigeria, Lagos, is home to the biggest single-train refinery in the world.

Production started on Friday.

The refinery received the sixth and final batch of one million barrels of crude oil needed for the plant to start operating, which is when the development took place.

Recall that a month ago, the Dangote refinery acquired the first one million barrels of Agbami crude grade…..from Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited, one of the major trading businesses in Nigeria, as well as globally, trading in over eight million barrels of crude oil every day.

Since then, the crude oil has been delivered to the Dangote refinery in batches. On Monday, the sixth batch, consisting of one million barrels of Agbami crude, was released at the Dangote Offshore Oil Terminal’s Single Point Mooring.

,,,,,Journalists were earlier told by Akin Omole, the managing director of Dangote Ports Operations, at Dangote Quay in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, that the refinery would be ready to start up after the six million barrels of crude were delivered.

“Once the six million barrels are delivered in full, it will enable the refinery’s first run and initiate the production of diesel, aviation fuel, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas, which will then advance to the production of Premium Motor Spirit,” stated Omole.

,,,,,,,This most recent development will be crucial in easing Nigeria’s and the West African countries’ problems with fuel supply.

According to the corporation, if Dangote Petroleum Refinery is put into operation, it can supply all….of Nigeria’s needs for refined products, including aviation jet, diesel, gasoline, and kerosene, and it has excess of these goods for export.

…..In his New Year’s message to Nigerians, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made a suggestion that the Portharcourt and Dangote refineries would begin operations in January 2024.
