Koka Community Urges Gov Adeleke On Speedy Approval of New Oni-Koka, Declares Support For Adejumo Amos Operinmade
The indigenes and residents of Koka Community in Ilase-Ijesa of Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State trooped out in numbers to express their concerns on the vacant stool of Oni-Koka of Koka, OsunReporters News gathered.
In their large numbers, the concerned people on Wednesday visited the governor’s office in Okepupa Abere to speak with the deputy governor, Prince Kola Adewusi on the need to urgently address the current vacancy of Oni-Koka stool.
While speaking to our Correspondent, the Chairman of Koka Community, Mr Akeem Atoyebi stated that the community is in support of Prince Operinmade Adejumo Amos of Anibijuwon ruling house to ascend the throne for the peace and development of Koka Community.
He applauded governor Adeleke for not listening to those who want to bypass the due process to ascend the throne of Oni-Koka.
According to him, “We are here to register our stand on the Oni-Koka stool. We want Governor Adeleke to approve the person we want as King.
“We also thank Governor Adeleke for not listening to some people trying to get to the throne through the back door. The choice of the community is Prince Adejumo Amos Aperinmade to ascend the throne of his ancestors as Oni-Koka.”
In their separate reactions, some youths of the community Comrade Afolabi Victor and Mr Fafiyebi Muritala explained that since late Oba Sunday Fadare joined his ancestors in January 2023, the entire Koka Community has been without a king which is affecting them in all ramifications, urging the governor to approve Prince Adejumo Amos Operinmade as King whom people are clamoring for.
Addressing the protesters, Special Adviser to Governor Adeleke on Security, Barr Sam Olu-Ojo said the governor is aware of the demand to install new Oni-Koka, adding that a new resolution on the matter would be made public soon.
He urged them not to embark on any act that can lead to violence in the community, advising them to go through the right channel to register their demand by writing letters to the appropriate quarters.
