Iconic Labour Leader, Frank Kokori Dies on His Birthday
Frank Kokori, the former general secretary of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), breathed his last at the age of 80. Kokori’s demise occurred at a hospital in Warri, Delta state, and remarkably, on the very day he celebrated his birthday.
Atawada Oke, Kokori’s personal assistant, officially confirmed the news of the former NUPENG leader’s passing.
Kokori had been grappling with a kidney-related ailment over the past few months, and his health struggles came to a poignant end on Thursday.

Responding to the distress call, Sheriff Oborevwori, the governor of Delta, paid a visit to the elder statesman at the hospital. During the visit, the governor pledged the state’s support to ensure Kokori received high-quality medical treatment.
