Israel, Hamas sign ‘truce deal’ amid war
,,,,,,,In the first major diplomatic breakthrough in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, both warring sides have reached a truce in a significant development arising from many weeks of Qatar-brokered negotiations between the two parties.
For the deal, no fewer than 50 hostages and many other Palestinians prisoners are to be freed while Gaza residents are also offered a four-day truce.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet approved the truce accord on Wednesday after a long meeting.

Netanyauhu told ministers that it was a difficult decision but it’s a right decision to take in the reality of the moment.
In return, Hamas released a statement welcoming the “humanitarian truce” and said it would also see 150 Palestinians released from Israeli jails.
…..Following the October 7 raids on Israel by Hamas, the former declared war on the latter,
launched a major bombing campaign and ground offensive in Gaza.
This war, according to the Hamas government in the territory, has killed 14,100 people.
Hamas’ October 7 cross-border attack was described as the worst in Israel’s history, with around 1,200 people dead.
