Osun Farmers, Students, Persons With Disabilities, Others Benefited As Trose Foundation Marks Second Anniversary

In commemoration of its second anniversary, a non-governmental organisation, Trose Foundation, has made a significant impact by supporting students, farmers and less privileged masses including physically challenged people in Osun State with their needs, OsunReporters News gathered.
As part of its back-to-school outreach programme, the foundation distributed different text books to the students from 30 different secondary schools in the state to support and encourage children from less privileged backgrounds. While about 50 farmers were given farm tools, the less privileged and persons with disabilities received food items On Saturday in Osogbo.
The students, who were coordinated by their teachers, trooped out to thank the foundation for the kind gesture to support their education career. The Chairman of Osun State Persons With Disabilities, Mr Stephen Oluwafemi thanked the organizer for reaching out to people at the time of their need.
The CEO of the foundation, Dr Adelawon Adegbemiga Taiwo, expressed that about 500 beneficiaries have benefited from the programme. He emphasized that this effort was intended to alleviate the impact of the current economic situation in the country.
According to him, “We remember where we came from and as a humanitarian, you know every child needs to be loved. Moreso, school has just resumei and we want to just encourage the students to go back to school.
“It’s one thing for you to want to go back to school and to have what it takes to go back to school. Encouraging our children to go back to school and increase enthusiasm is a dream come true.
“For the farmers, we need to empower them so their produce (foods) will be of benefit to the society. People with disabilities need to be encouraged and loved at all times. They are special creatures and human beings like us. Trose Foundation has been doing it and we promise to do more in a few months time for the benefits of all”.Dr Adelawon, however, concluded that the Foundation is open for partnership and support from government, Organizations and Philanthropist Nigeria to expound the current gesture to more Nigerians. He also thanked those who encouraged the foundation for the success of the programme.
A member of the foundation who is the head of ICT, Pastor Adegoke Olalekan Jacob, explained that the Foundation has a tradition of giving back to the society because of the kindhearted person of the founder, Dr Adelawon, adding that the increasing demands from people reflect the ongoing challenges in the nation’s socio-economic landscape and Trose Foundation is always ready to respond to the needs of the masses.
Presentation of Awards and Certificate of Honour to some collaborators, Launching of the second edition of Trose Magazine and stage drama added glamor to the second anniversary ceremony that was held at the Osogbo City Hall, Olonkooro Osogbo.
While speaking with the OsunReporters Correspondent, Oba (Amb) Adesoji Kehinde Oyedepo (Akinrinsa II) the Salu of Edunabon, on behalf of the award recipients, applauded the foundation for honouring him with award of excellence and for reaching out to the people at this time of economic hardship. He appealed to affluent individuals and corporate entities to continue assisting those in need within society.
Eminent personalities from government, technocrats and private establishment were present at the event where Royal Fathers; Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s look alike, Mr Samson Seun Imole; Special Adviser to Governor Adeleke on political matters, Alh Muniru Adebayo Raji was represented by Hon Akeem Gbolagade; representative of the Osun State Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Mr Olumide Ajayi; representative of the Osun State Senior Secondary Education, Mrs Bolade E.O; State Chairman Osun state Persons with Disabilities, Mr Stephen Oluwafemi; groups among other people were in attendance.
