Osun Assembly Sacks OSEMSAS General Manager, Gives Reason

Osun state House of Assembly has directed the General Manager of Osun state Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System(OSEMSAS)Dr. Babatunde Samuel to step aside .
The decision of the State parliament was sequel to a petition written by the Coalition of Good Governance in which series of allegations were levelled against Dr Samuel.
In the recommendation signed by the Clerk of the State House of Assembly and addressed to the State Head of Service,the OSEMSAS boss is to step aside pending the outcome of the investigation in respect of the many allegations levelled against him.
The report of the audit investigation issued to the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly revealed ,among others payments made without documentation from the project account of the agency put at several millions of naira.
It was also revealed in the report there are procurement irregularities, poor record-keeping of transactions as well as expenditures not accounted for , which contravenes the Financial Regulations 32004, 05004, 09004 and 09002.
The Head of Service ,Mr Ayanleye Aina has therefore been subsequently asked by the state parliament to appoint a competent officer as General Manager of the Agency to Serve in an Acting Capacity to facilitate its smooth running pending the final outcome of the investigations being carried out.
