Politics Of Parliative Distribution: An appeal to Gov Adeleke, by ‘Kola Akintibubo
Continued hoarding of palliative items by the State Government is an advertent perfidious rape on the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for Nigerians. This is a serious issue of concern.
The administration of Governor Adeleke in Osun State in particular, has not been compassionate to the citizenry for its deliberate way and calculated attempt to deny the masses of their rights.
It is no longer news that the palliative items accompanied with N2billion cash transfer to cushion the effects of petroleum subsidy removal were released to all States by the Federal Government. But sadly enough, only a few Governors live up to the expectations. The refusal to distribute the items timely has really aggravated the agitation and severe hardship of our good people of Osun who are target beneficiaries.
This ignoble step is capable of portraying the good intent of the Tinubu-led administration of alleviating the suffering of the poor masses through the palliative in bad light.
My appeal goes to the Governor of the State, His Excellency Ademola Adeleke to look inward and release the items to the people. The Federal Government is using the State as distribution channel to reach the poor masses, not for any State to divert same for whatever purpose.
