Commotion in court as six Witnesses Testify Against Their Party
….Six witnesses, who are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), testified at the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Lafia, Nasarawa State, alleging that Governor Abdullahi Sule’s vote count during the March 18 election in Keffi and Awe local government areas was tampered with in an effort to favor the opposition candidate.
They further claimed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received inflated votes in these regions.
….Governor Sule’s legal representatives introduced these witnesses as part of their defense in response to a petition lodged by the PDP and its governorship candidate, David Ombugadu. The petition contests the declaration of Governor Sule as the election winner.
Witness number two for the second respondent, Isham Abubakar Dan’azumi, a farmer and APC Polling unit agent, testified that at Wuse TV Centre Polling Unit 010, the BVAS machine was used and the results were uploaded to INEC iRev by the presiding officer.
He expressed concerns that the APC’s scores were reduced in the polling unit, while PDP’s scores were increased.
…..Under cross-examination, the defense witness number two confirmed evidence presented by the lead counsel for the APC, Mathew Burkah, which showed that APC scored 353 votes at Polling Unit 010, while PDP received 37 votes.
However, during the collation at the registration area of Wuse electoral ward, the APC’s votes were allegedly lowered to 193, and PDP’s votes were reportedly raised to 197.
In addition, respondent witness number three, Abdullahi Hashimu Danlami, residing in Sabon Garin Awe, Awe LGA, stated that based on reports from his party agents, INEC conducted the governorship election peacefully in Makungiji Electoral Ward.
……He mentioned that on the election day, he voted before proceeding to the Ward Collation Centre. He also noted the use of BVAS machines by INEC Presiding Officers
