UNIOSUN student invites Online Lagos lover to Osun, defrauds him of N1.5m
,,,,,,The Osun State Police Command has arrested a student couple of the Osun State University, Ikire campus, Ariyo Abayomi and Ahiante Victory Ehiremen for luring a Lagos-based businessman to the State and robbed him.
,,,,According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola, said the victim reported the case to Ikire Division and the suspects were apprehended on the 28th of June.
,,,,,She explained that “On the 28th June, 2023 at about 1330hrs, the complainant reported at Ikire Division that, he met Victory Ahiante on social media and started chatting, then he was invited to come to Osun State from Lagos State by his friend, Victory ‘f’.
“He stated further that, when he came to Ikire, Victory lured him to her boyfriend’s house where he met some unscrupulous elements who attacked him and collected his phone which they,,,,,,used it to transfer the sum of N1.5m from his account.
“Immediately the case was reported, police detectives swung into action and arrested one Ariyo Ayobami ‘m’ from his hideout.
She also disclosed that preliminary investigation led to the arrest of the two other accomplices.
,,,,,,Opalola stated that efforts are ongoing to arrest other culprits, suspects will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
