Two women arraign for alleged sales of PVCs

,,,,,The Police in Enugu have arraigned in court a 41-year old woman, Chinwendu Nnamani for alleged sales of Permanent Voters’ Card, PVC .

The Command Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

Chinwendu was arrested by Police Detectives serving in the State CID of Enugu State Command, on 31/01/2023, following a viral social media video clip, in which she was seen and alleged to be selling INEC Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) for the sum of one thousand naira (N1,000.00), at Emene Enugu to card owners.

,,,,,The police also arrested one Nkiruka Patience Obinna aged 38, an INEC Staff who alleged have the said Cards to the first suspect for distribution to the actual owners.

Ndukwe said after conclusion of investigation, the matter was charged to court, in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022, and the suspects arraigned accordingly.


,,,,,,He said the suspects were granted bail and the case adjourned to 15/02/2023 for further hearing.
