Court nullifies Osun LG Elections

,,,,,,,The federal high court sitting in Osogbo has declared the local government election conducted by the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, OSIEC, as null and void.

,,,,,,Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel made the declaration on Friday while delivering judgement in a suit filed by the People’s Democratic Party.

The judge said the election was held in contravention of Sections 29 & 32 of the Electoral Act, 2022.

,,,,,,The PDP had earlier before the October 15 election approached the court to stop the OSIEC from conducting the planned election.
