The music talent-hunt platform which has evolved over the years seeks to give recognition to upcoming acts who can blend traditional and modern tunes for the listening pleasure of the judges and audience.
Senior Brand Manager, Goldberg, Olaoluwa Babalola, in a statement noted that the auditions for the show, which have since commenced, are open to online and offline audiences to participate.

The auditions are open till 25th September 2022 while the first episode of the show itself will go live on TV screens on Saturday, 22nd October 2022.

Babalola said interested contestants should record a 60-second video of themselves singing a fusion of both traditional and modern tunes, upload the video on social media and tag the official handles of the brand on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. Interested contestants can also be on the lookout for scouts in major bars around them. He added that the auditions are open to young people who are aged 18 and above.

“Goldberg is committed to giving young people a platform to showcase their talents and actualize their dreams.

We have over the years leveraged our music talent hunt platform to discover exceptional talents who continue to put in the work with the hope that they will be recognized and celebrated someday.

“This season, we are challenging our contestants on the show to go the extra mile and do a fusion of traditional and modern music. This is our way of keeping our cultural values while we shape the future. This season promises to be buzztalgic, which is a blend of nostalgia and buzz.

“We are giving out a prize worth 50 million naira to the winner of the show. This will include a 15 million cash price, a 15 million album recording deal with some of the finest producers in Nigeria, a 15 million music distribution deal, a 5 million video production deal and an opportunity to be signed on to Olamide’s, our brand ambassador’s label, YBNL.

We have raised the bar this season and we are excited for the numerous talents that will gain vast recognition as a result of this show,” Babablola remarked.

The Goldberg Ariya Omoluabi will be shown every Saturday and Sunday at 8:00 pm from 22nd October on Sound City TV and ON TV.

Initially, the platform was conceptualised as a platform for budding fuji artistes, called Fuji to Bam. But it has since evolved into a spectacle for more indigenous genres, including juju music and hip-hop.

“Goldberg is made by the Master Brewers at Nigerian Breweries Plc. It celebrates our culture, values and true identity. The Goldberg Ariya Omoluabi is an experiential platform celebrating the SW culture with indigenous music as a key arrowhead. The platform has grown in stature and relevance over the years; evolving from a strictly-fuji competition to a fusion of Juju and Hip-hop.”
