Catholic Church Renowned Bishop Confirmed Death

The Catholic diocese of Konongo Mampong has been hit with very sad news as Vicar General who by the Catholic structure is an assistant to the Bishop is confirmed dead.

,,,,,,Announcing the sad news in a letter to the religious, non-religious and laity in the diocese, the Catholic bishop for Konongo-Mampong Diocese, Most. Rev. Joseph Osei-Bonsu said Rev. Fr. Augustine Owusu Sekyere died suddenly last night at the Mampong Government hospital.

,,,,,,According to the Bishop, the Administrator of St. Paul’s Cathedral in Mampong died at the age of 62. He added that funeral arrangements will be announced later.

…….“It is with a very sad heart and great shock that I announce to you the death of Rev. Fr. Augustine Owusu Sekyere, the Vicar General of the Konongo Mampong Diocese and the Administrator of St. Paul’s Cathedral, Mampong. Fr. Owusu Sekyere died suddenly last night around 7:30pm at the District Hospital in Mampong”, part of the release stated.

,,,,,,,,He was born on 16th April 1959 and so would have been 63 years old on 16th April 2022. He was ordained a priest in the Catholic Church in July 1989.
