10 killed as rival cult groups clash in Osun

,,,,,Information reaching the OSUNREPORTERS NEWS has it that, no fewer than 10 persons have died as a result of a fresh cult clash in Ilesa, Osun State.

According to the report, the dark spots in the ancient town include, Brewery, Ifofin, Idasa, and Irojo.

The killings, which occurred on Monday, were a reprisal attack for the killing which occurred in Odogbo-Ijesa on Saturday. He also stated that as a result of the clash, residents of the affected areas have been living in palpable fear.

,,,,,,All efforts to speak with the police on the incident were unsuccessful as the Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, was not available for comment.

,,,,,However, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun Command Public Relations Officer, Atanda Olabisi told DAILY POST that law enforcement agents were on top of the situation and peace has been restored to the areas affected.

….She assured the residents of maximum protection, urging them to go about their normal activities.


It could be recalled that a man, Job Akinola was killed by some persons suspected to be cultists on Saturday during the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary election in Ward 6, Odogbo-Ijesa, Atakunmosa East Local Government Area of the state.
