Osun Residents Benefit From Ayombo Foundation Empowerment Programme

Gbongan town in Ayedaade local government of Osun State was agog as hundreds of residents benefited from the Ayombo Foundation empowerment programme over the weekend, OSUNREPORTERS NEWS gathered.

The programme, which includes presentation of cash, obtaining of JAMB form for students, Football competition amongst residents of Ayedaade local government, will no doubt lives for long in the hearts of both the beneficiaries and Osun residents as the presentation of cash through Ayoombo Foundation showed that the founder understands the language of the masses, especially youths by engaging them in a football competition.

While speaking at the history making event, the President of Ayoombo foundation, Asiwaju Femi Adedeji explained that the empowerment drive is focused at bringing succour to the less privileged in accordance with the stipulations of the two holy books, noting that the programme is in four phases, which aimed at assisting the widows, the artisans, the students and as well develop the talents in sporting activities by catching them young.

Asiwaju Adedeji described sports as a veritable tool to Foster peace and unity, adding that engaging people at the grassroot in sporting activities meant a lot in human and economic development. He called on the wealthy Nigerians to always remember the needy in their programmes.

In his address, the Olufi of Gbongan, Oba Adetoyese Oyeniyi who was represented by one of his high chiefs described Asiwaju Femi Adedeji as one of the worthy sons of Gbongan who is always concerned with the development of his people.

The royal father gave kudos to President of Ayoombo Foundation for footing the bill of indigent students wishing to write the upcoming JAMB examinations into tertiary institutions.

Olufi therefore noted that if every individual could be like Asiwaju Olufemi Adedeji, the society will be a better place for all to live.

In their separate remarks the chairman of Ayedaade local government, Honourable Ayo Toyosi and the APC Chairman in the council area lauded the initiative of Ayoombo foundation for his contribution in reducing poverty in the society.

The empowerment and skill development programme was capped with a football competition where Olufi football club emerged the overall winner, and Obada FC as the runner up, while Odeomu FC emerged Second Runner up in the compilation held between November 14th, 2021 and January 8th, 2022 where the winners were rewarded with N250,000, N150,000, N100,000 and N50,000 respectively

While speaking, Coordinator of the football condition, Ibrahim Olayemi, said “Femi Adedeji and his Ayombo Foundation want to rapidly develop Ayedaade Local Government Area in all aspects, the football compilation is just one of the many programmes embarked upon.

Some of the beneficiaries of both students, physically challenged person’s and Youths gave kudos to the organizers and payed to God to replenish his purse, answer his prayers and protect him from any evil plans.
