Fuel Tanker Bursts Into Flame Inside Filling Station
The news reaching the OSUNREPORTERS NEWS has it that a fuel-loaded tanker burst into flames at a filling station in Alapa town, Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State on Monday.
……According to the spokesman of the Kwara State Fire Brigade, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, the fire incident occurred at about 18:19hrs.
…..He explained that it occurred at MM filling station along Kaiama road in Alapa town, though no life was lost, adding that the blazing fire had engulfed the whole tanker due to the terrible nature of the incident when the firefighters arrived at the scene.
,,,,,However, the firemen were able to put out the fire on time and also prevented the burning tanker from affecting the filling station in the vicinity area.
The accident was reportedly caused by a mechanical fault in the petrol tanker.
…Director of the state fire service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, advised the general public to be more careful, urging fuel filling stations to procure all the necessary safety equipment at their various stations.
