After a number of 101 residents were tested for skin infections, two suspected cases of leprosy have been discovered at Sabo, Mokola in Ibadan, Oyo state.

Four cases of other skin diseases were also discovered among the inhabitants of the community at a free leprosy test organized by a non-governmental Foundation in the state.

The bacterial infection was reportedly caused by mycobacterium Laprae, which affects the nerves, skin, eyes, ears and the lining of the nose. The discovered cases have been handed over to the Ibadan North Local Government’s Tuberculosis and Leprosy Supervisor for treatment.
