Man arrested for murder of his daughter in Osun

The Osun State Government on Sunday, November 7, 2021, said it had arrested a resident of Osogbo, the state capital, Sanjo for allegedly beating his son to death.

The state commissioner for women, children and social affairs, Olubukola Olaboopo, said in a statement that the 43-year-old suspect, who lives in Alekuwodo, had been handed over to the police.
Olaboopo, who claimed the ministry was found guilty of the crime by a source, said government officials intervened and arrested the suspect.
The statement also quoted Sanjo as saying that he married his wife in 2008 and they have five children. He added that it was the third time I had beaten him unintentionally.

My wife left the baby with me and started crying. I did everything I could to make her, but she kept crying. Something came to my mind and I beat the two-month-old baby to death. My wife and I buried the boy on the farm, ”he added.

However, the statement said Sanjo’s wife, during interrogation, claimed that four of their five children had died, leaving them with their youngest.
She revealed that she collaborated with her husband in killing two of the children because of poverty, while throwing one child near the Osogbo technical school neighborhood.

Olaboopo warned that the state government would not condone acts of terrorism and child abuse, vowing that anyone caught would face the wrath of the law.
