APC crisis: Buni meets with stakeholders in Oyo

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Planning Committee has finally taken action on the crisis that followed the Oyo State House of Assembly last weekend.

A party source told the Nigerian Tribune on Wednesday that the Yobe State governor and chairman of the interim committee, Mai Mala Buni, had invited party dignitaries to a meeting scheduled for today.

At the end of a meeting held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium last Saturday, former land and housing commissioner Isaac Omodewu became chairman. However, some party stalwarts in the state boycotted the postponed meeting.

Among those who boycotted the event were the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare; chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande; Senator Ayoade Adeseun, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin; 2019 gubernatorial candidate in the state, Mr Adebayo Adelabu; former Secretary to the State Government, Sharafadeen Alli; Dr Azeez Adeduntan and Mr Joseph Tegbe.

Others were Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Niyi Adeagbo, Mrs Folake Oshinowo, Gbenga Olayemi, Kola Olabiyi, Wasiu Owolabi, Ambali Abiodun and Olalekan Kazeem, among others.


According to reports, the former Oyo State governor and party leader, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, met with Governor Buni at his private residence in Abuja last night, ahead of the meeting. today with the established stakeholders of the national party secretariat.
