Kano Govt Finally Speaks On Ganduje Wife’s Arrest

After the news of the state firstlady’s arrest was broken, the Kano State Government has dismissed the report of arrest of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s wife, Professor Hafsat Ganduje by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

…… According to the report, the state government described the news as mere rumours being peddled by mischief-makers.

……In a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, expressed regret that the content of the unfounded story could not be attributed to any credible source such as the purported arresting agency, the EFCC, pointing out that unfortunately, the fake story is being peddled on social media platforms without confirmation from either the government or the EFCC.

……Malam Garba said the governor’s wife has not been arrested or detained and is presently discharging her responsibilities.

…….The commissioner called on the good people of the state to disregard the rumour, urging them to remain calm.

It could be recalled that the report earlier had it that Mrs Ganduje’s son had few weeks ago reported her mother to the EFCC alleging her if land grabbing and fraud, while EFCC reportedly invited her but failed to honour the invitation.
