The news reaching the OSUNREPORTERS NEWS has it that the paramount ruller of Ijareland, Oba Adebamigbe Oluwagbemigun Kokotiri II, the Olujare of Ijare Land in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, has passed on to join his ancestors.

It could be recalled that the news of his demise went viral on Thursday night but sources including some high chiefs in the town that were contacted said it was a rumour.

Confirming the report, the Prime Minister of Ijare who is the Sapetu of Ijare, High Chief Wemimo Olaniran said in his passage that the monarch has joined his ancestors.

….Following his passage, the High Chief Salotun of Ijare, a Male, will now act as the Regent (acting King) because Ijare tradition doesn’t support a Female Regent.

Oba Oluwagbemigun ascended the throne in 1996. He was a trained Engineer. The late Monarch was 83 years before his passage.
