ACHIEVEMENTS OF MR. GOVERNOR IN THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH IN THE LAST THIRTY MONTHS (NOVEMBER, 2018 – MAY, 2021)

  • Rehabilitation, Renovation, Upgrading and Revitalization of 322 focal Primary Healthcare Centres across the State: 304 completed; 18 ongoing
  • Rehabilitation, Renovation, Upgrading and Revitalization of the General Hospital, Ejigbo in Ejigbo Local Government Area of the State (completed)
  • Rehabilitation, Renovation, Upgrading and Revitalization of the General Hospital Ifetedo in Ife South Local Government Area of the State (completed)
  • Sinking of 332 motorised boreholes with stanchion and overhead tanks in the focal Primary Healthcare Centres across the State (completed)
  • Construction of a 120-bed ward at the State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo
  • Construction of thirty (30) units of Doctors’ Quarter at the State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo (completed)
  • Procurement of medical equipment, test kits, essential drugs and others medical consumables for distribution to health facilities across the State
  • Rehabilitation and Renovation of the trauma centre, new theatre complex, children ward, main laboratory, blood bank building and surgical ward at the State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro (completed)
  • Conduct of 600 free surgical operations for the citizens of the State by Hope Float Initiative
  • Medical Mission to the State of Osun by Mercy Said No, USA
  • Renovation and Rehabilitation of the Government House Clinic as well as the State Secretariat Staff Clinic (completed)
  • Release of fund as premium for the enrollment of the vulnerable citizens of the State into the Osun Health Insurance (O’HIS) scheme
  • Release of fund to the State of Osun Agency for the Control of AIDS (O’SACA) for various intervention control programmes of the Agency
  • Approval and commencement of payment of 100% corrected Consolidated Medical Salary Scale (CONMESS) as well as Consolidated Health Salary Scale (CONHESS) for health workers in the State with effect from February, 2020.
  • Conversion of the Male Surgical Ward to a fully-equipped 20-bed Isolation Centre at the State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro
  • Conversion of part of the new Theatre Complex at the State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro to a fully-equipped 8-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • Conversion of part of Mercyland Hospital, Osogbo to a fully-equipped 180-bed Isolation Centre
  • Conversion of part of the recently- renovated General Hospital, Ejigbo to a fully-equipped 130-bed Isolation Centre.
  • Conversion of the Dermatology Clinic at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Ile-Ife to a fully-equipped 16-bed Isolation Centre.
  • Procurement of sundry medical equipment, personal protective equipment, medical consumables (hand sanitizer, nose mask etc) and other essential drugs to support the fight against Covid-19 pandemic in the State
  • Accreditation of the General Nursing and Post-basic Midwifery programmes at the State Schools of Nursing and Midwifery, Asubiaro, Osogbo. The immediate implication of this positive development is that the yearly intake of students into the two health institutions has been increased from 30 to 75
  • Accreditation of Environmental Health Technology programme at the College of Health Technology, Ilesa
  • Accreditation of Health Information Management Course as well as Dental Therapy programme at the College of Health Technology, Ilesa
  • Procurement of 2 units of Ambulance for the State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo.
  • Commencement of the implementation of the New Minimum Wage Package for eligible Officers in the Ministry of Health.
