Wives Of Osun Slain Police Officer Demand Arrest Of Perpetrators As Husband Buried Amidst Tear

At the burial of the slain Police Constabulary, Jelili Aladeokin on Friday, who died during an armed robbery attack on two Banks in Iree, Osun State on Thursday, his wives at the family house at Dam Area, Iree, have demanded the arrest of the armed robbers and made to face the wrath of the law.

His remains arrived the Iree Muslim cemetery at about 11 on Friday morning where Islamic clerics performed the burial rite amidst grief and sorrow.

Some indigenes of the town described Jeleel Aladeokun as a youth who dedicated his life to providing effective security of the town, adding that his death would leave a vacuum in the internal security of the town and he would be missed by many.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode earlier said in Osogbo that the attacks were carried out simultaneously on the police station and the banks, assuring residents that the manhunt would continue until the perpetrators were arrested. He confirmed that four people who were injured during the attacks were receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

 

The police commissioner however enjoined members of the public to always cooperate with the police by providing useful information that would help in taming criminal activities before they would be carried out.


It could be recalled that the Bank robbery occurred in Ire on Wednesday where robbers opratedated for about 30 minutes before escaping through Iree-Ada road after killing one person.
