FACTCHECK: 10 football rules you probably did not know exist
The underlisted ten rulers in football were gathered within the world rules of football.
Read the ten rules below
• Rule no 1: If you score a goal but the ball goes flat on the way to the goal, the goal does not count
• Rule no 2: Yellow card for an illegal celebration remains even if the goal is disallowed.
• Rule no 3: You can be sent out of the match before the match even starts this applies if you do something illegal on the day of the match like insulting a referee on your way inside the stadium, the referee can give you a red or yellow card.
• Rule no 4: The amount of players allowed to take penalty kicks in the shootout must be equal for both teams.This applies if a player from team A is given a red card during the match, after the match on a penalty shootout one player from team B should not be inside the field at centre circle where players who are about to take penalties stand.
• Rule no 5: A team could start a soccer match with seven players. This is the Minimum required players for a game to start.This also means that a a team could only receive 4 red cards in a match if the is a 5th red card in a team the match should be stopped. These red cards do not apply to substitute players, they can get as many red cards.
• Rule no 6: No attacking players closer than 1m from the wall. These means that if an attacking team is taking a free kick its players should not be in the wall of the defending team they should be far by 1m. These was because attackers standing closer or in the defensive wall at a free kick often cause management problems and waste time.
• Rule no 7: You can’t score an own goal from a free kick or throw in.These happens when a player scores an own goal from a free kick, throw in or goal kick without any player being in contact with the ball, as embarassing as it is the goal does not count.
• Rule no 8: The team that wins the toss can now choose to take the kick off or which goal post to attack
• Rule no 9: In penalty situation the goalkeeper must not be touching the nets, crossbar or goalposts, they must not be moving at all
• Rule no 10: The goalkeeper can hold the ball for a maximum of six seconds.
