#EndSARS: UN Finally Breaks Silence, Reacts To Protests Against SARS
The #EndSARS campaign is gradually becoming a global campaign as the United Nations (UN) on Tuesday reacted the protest staged by the Nigerian youths.
In its reaction, the leadership of United Nation appealed to those who are participating in the #EndSARS campaign to remain peaceful, adding that the world body is in support for Nigeria’s solidity.
In a reaction by the UN Resident Coordinator in Nigeria, Edward Kallon, UN commended the preparedness of the federal government of Nigeria to effect reforms.
Edward made this known via his Twitter account where the organization noted that the process may take time.
According to the message, “I have followed the developments regarding #EndSARS movement. Government’s commitment to dismantle the outfit & reform the @PoliceNG is welcome.
“The process may take time. I appeal to the youth to remain peaceful. The @UN is committed to supporting Nigeria’s continued stability”, Kallon tweeted.
Recall that the #EndSARS protest started in the early month of October, 2020 where six people have lost their lives and scores wounded before the scarab of the SARS across Nigeria.
