“Many Of The Cote d’Ivoire Returnees Tested For Covid-19 Are Not Indigenes Of Osun” – Omipidan
Osun State Government has stated that some of the Cote d’Ivoire returnees, who were isolated and tested for COVID-19 in April were not indigenes of the state.
Mr Ismail Omipidan, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Gboyega Oyetola, stated this in Osogbo on Thursday while featuring on Insightful Moment with Jare Tiamiyu, an online TV show.
He stated that some of those tested positive were also from other states, whom Governor Oyetola ordered to be treated in Ejigbo isolation center to prevent the spread of the virus.
Omipidan also states that the government deserves some commendation for treating an 82-year-old woman successfully as against the global belief that older people have low chances of surviving when they contract the diseae.
