To cushion the effect of the stay-at-home order occasioned by Covid-19 global pandemic pandemic in Osun State, Calvary Message Int’l Ministry distributed food items to residents of Osogbo, Osun State Capital.

According to reports made available to OSUNREPORTERS NEWS by Akomolafe Emmanuel Dee-Choosen on Friday in Osogbo, Calvary Message Int’l Ministry donated food items such as rice, beans, yam and cash to the vulnerable and the needy in a door to door food and cash distribution in some part of the State Capital.

According to the General Overseer of Cavalry Message Int’l Ministry located at Aderin, Powerline Area in Osogbo, Evangelist Moses Ade Babajide the gesture was to help mitigate the harsh impact of government’s order to Nigerians to stay at home to avoid the spread of COVID-19 global pandemic, while the philanthropic gesture was aimed at extending helping hands to the vulnerable and the needy at this trying time.

The General Overseer added that this is not the first time the church would be reaching out to the aged and needy, urging the people of Osogbo and Osun state to continue to adhere strictly and ensure full compliance with the government directives over the deadly virus.

In his words, “This distribution of food items is expected to alleviate the suffering of the people as a result of the sit-at-home directives over the COVID-19 spread and designed to touch most of the residents of the state.

“I am sure we may not be able to reach everyone, but we will try our best within our capacity. The church even before the outbreak had embarked on operation feed the needy said many aged and needy have benefited from the gesture.

“We have started Operation feed the needy since April 12 till date while we extend our love to the needy in putting food on their tables. The reason for the gesture was to ensure that members and other residents stayed well, even as they stayed at home in this trying time.

” The Church has joined the whole world in sensitizing the people of Osun before the lockdown that the instructions given to us by the state government is for our own good and safety. We tell them that Prayer is not everything but precaution help prayer to work more faster,” Evang. Moses said.
