Local Government Chairman Allegedly Beats Staff To Coma For Demanding Unpaid Salary In Osun (photos)

The Council Chairman of Ayedire South LCDA, Oluponna in Osun State, Hon. Femi Idowu is alleged to have beaten one of his female staff after demanding for his five months updaid salary.
The woman, Funmilola after working almost 3 years in Hotel owned by the council chairman was beaten up by Hon. Idowu in Oluponna, Osun State on Thursday, February 6, 2020.

According to the report and investigation made by Hon. Toogun on phone conversation with the two parties involved which is obtained by Naijaray, Hon. Femi Idowu said he didn’t beat her. “ I did not beat her, she has been working with me in my hotel for about 3 years, she didn’t know how to do proper account documentation, at long run, I used to be in debt which lead me to employed another person. She said that she want to collect her money of five month which I against. She insisted that she will collect her money, I then decided to involve the Police. During the time he insist on the money, that was when see fell down and got pinch by something on her face. The bandage they said he tied is fake ”

He continued “ When I was going to involved the police on the matter, they said the woman run after my motor and was injured, I don’t even know that she was injured. She just do Sakamanjay, she also confessed after she was given her salary that she earlier pretended. ”

“ The police called us and we have settled it between ourselves, we are no longer goto the Police station. ” Femi said.

The victim, Mrs Funmilola through the phone conversation also said her side of the story. At the beginning of the conversation, the woman was noted to lost courage to speak up and she was afraid of what the on-air conversation might lead to. When asking about what the issue that happened between Hon. Femi Idowu and the wonan, she said “Yes, But we have settled it today. It was devil, it just happened like that and we have settled it. It was true that he beat me and we have settled it ” The woman said.

He was the one that called me to collect my salary and he asked how many month he owed me, I told him that it is five months and he said that it is one month. That was where he started to curse me and I repeat it for him. Then, he started beating me.”

“He beat me and when I try to hold him, I was pushed and he still arrested me in station. ” Mrs Funmilola added.
When she was asked to explain what the police said on the matter. The woman said the Police beg her that everything should be settle between Hon. Femi Idowu and her.

“ When we reach the police Station, I was begged that we should settle everything and I should not tell anybody what happened when I reach home and I told them that I’ve heard. ” the victim woman said.

From the phone conversation, the woman affirmed that Hon. Femi Idowu used his car key to pinched her face.
It was also gathered that Hon Femi Idowu paid the hospital bill for Mrs Funmilayo and also, he paid for her lawyer in order to make everything legally so that the issue could be buried in an holistic way.

A source within the community informed Naijaray that this is the second time that the Council Chairman of Ayedire South, LCDA, Hon. Femi Idowu will involve in this kind of incident.

NAIJARAY gathered that last year, the chairman involved in a scandal where he beat the students’ union president of the Local government. The matter was then resolved by the state commissioner of police in Osogbo the state capital of Osun.

Effort has been made to get in touch with Mrs Funmilola for further investigation. Meanwhile, some Non Governmental Organizations, Human right activists together with women movement organizations have promised to investigate this incident and take legal action if at the end of the day Hon. Femi Idowu is guilty of the allegation.
