51-year-old man remanded in prison for sodomizing 7-year-old boy

A 51-year-old alleged child molester, CHARLES OHANELE, has been remanded in the federal correctional facility after he was accused of penetrating the anus of a seven-year-old boy in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.

The police said the matter was reported by one AREMU BUSAYO of Government House Junction at G-R-A, who complained that while she was in her shop, her son (name withheld), came crying to her, complaining of pain in his anus, adding that it was inconsolable cry of the boy that made the mother check his back, discovering bloodstain in his pant and bruises in his anus.

The alleged child molester was arraigned for unnatural offense, criminal and intimidation after an investigation conducted at Juvenile Welfare Center Gender Child Protection Unit, revealed that Ohanele, popularly known as Papa, deceived the victim into his house by telling him to come and collect biscuits.

The police prosecutor, D-S-P OLOGBONSAYE urged the court to remand the defendant, premising on the fact that the offense is not ordinarily bailable. Magistrate AFUSAT ALEGE remanded the accused at Mandala correctional center and adjourned the matter till May 10, for further mention.
