17-year-old Sentenced To Death In Osun For Stealing Fowl, Eggs (Photo)
A 17-year-old Segun Olowookere, has been sentenced to death by an Osun State High Court sitting in Ikirun, Ifelodun local government area of the State.
According to reports, Segun who was detained at Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison, Lagos State, was convicted of robbery at the age of 17 and sentenced to death.
The conviction stemmed from a robbery at a poultry farm in Oyan, located in Odo-Otin Local Government Area, where Segun was found guilty of stealing a fowl and eggs.
However, as Governor Ademola Adeleke is marking his second anniversary in office, the parents of
Segun who is an indigene of Osun State have appealed for clemency.
His parents have expressed their devastation, stating that he is their only son and pleading for his life to be spared.
In addition to appealing to Adeleke, the family has reached out to the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, seeking his intervention in the matter.(Daily Post)
