10th NASS Leadership: Preferred Candidates Finally Revealed
,,,Barring any last minute change, the present permutations within the All Progressive Congress APC for the 10th National Assembly leadership position as disclosed by the party source are:
….The Senate president would be zoned to the South-south, while the position of Deputy Senate President would go to the North-west.
A source who preferred anonymity added that the position of the Speaker would be zoned to North-West, while the South-west would produce Deputy Speaker.
The source revealed that, Senator Godswill Akpabio is favoured by the president-elect to become the next Senate President, while Jibril Barau would be the Deputy Senate President.
Meetings and consultations would continue to ensure that an agreeable zoning formula is reached to prevent acrimony within the party.
He said: “The North Central may likely produce the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
“The Senate President will be zoned to South-south, the Deputy Senate President will be zoned to North-West.
The Speaker will be zoned to North-West, while the South-west is being considered for Deputy Speaker.”.
